Not sure what to say?

I'll never forget asking Charlie if I could use his store in my Pompey Hollow Book Club series. "Please remember my dad, will ya, Jerry?" That I did. That store was the rock that held that whole community together. That store, Mike and Charlie were good examples to America.

I wish I had seen this obituary earlier. I remember Charlie with fondness; he was a part of my growing up. There were many days spent in his store as well as the hardware store across the road. My sympathies go to his family. My best to Natalie and Denise.

Well, this tribute is obviously very late. Happened upon the obit when looking for my uncle's.
Needless, one of the nicest, sweetest gentlemen there was. So enjoyed going to the store and staring at the penny candy. A legend in his own right has passed on. Say hello to Henry & Ernestine.

Charlie asked me to remember his dad in my book. I remembered them both. They touched every life in Fabius and a lot beyond, for more than a century. I love you Charlie. Say hello to my dad, Big Mike!

I loved Charlie Shea! I just read his obit online, so I'm late to hear of his passing. I used to buy candy and ice cream cones from Charlie when I was just a kid. I knew him through my adult life also, and I was always happy to see, and hear, dear Charlie. My folks loved him, and I will miss him. One of the best people on God's earth. Rest in peace Charlie.

My first adventure at 5 years old was walking to Shea's store to buy a loaf of bread all by myself. I still have that picture, and years later sent my own children on that first independent journey. Growing up in Fabius was very special, all the more because Charlie was watching over all of us in his various leadership capacities in our village. He taught us all the value of community, respect, service, and humor. Thank you for the positive role model you were for all of us.

I bought penny candy as a child, spending way too much time staring through the glass of the candy case. As a boy, I bought kites and balsa gliders from the back upper shelf. As a teen, my first pair of Wolverine work boots came from his back room shoe store. I bought insurance from Charlie for my first motorcycle. There are many memories from my early years that Charlie brings to mind. He will be missed.

I have very fond memories of Charlie and his
store during my years at FCS .He was a great
guy and always made you feel better after
your talk.I can see by all his involvements in
everything he was a giving man too.Fabius
will never be the same again. My thoughts
and prayers are with his family.

We all lost a great person a beliver, always a smile a quick step.

I cannot believe the many things he was involved in. It seemed he was alwaays at the store..We Willalways remembeer him.Fabius will not be the same witout him,My Child Bride will miss him too,I always told Charlie he had to take carre of her if somethinng happened to me,He...
