I AM NOT SURE IF ANY OF THE CHILDREN OF CHASE AND SANDY REMEMBER ME. MY NAME IS RON KIRK. I LIVED WITH ALL OF THE SHEPARD FAMILY IN 1983-84. I WAS THEIR AU-PERE. I WAS SADDENED AT THE HEARING OF CHASE AND SANDY'S PASSING. THEY WERE VERY GOOD TO ME AS I FELT LIKE A PART OF THE FAMILY. I HAVE NOTHING BUT POSITIVE MEMORIES OF THAT TIME IN MY LIFE. I am grateful for the invitation to share additional remembrances of times spent together with my good friend, Chase Shepard. Chase and I originally met when we were students together in Provo at BYU. As I reflect now, I'm not sure I would recognize him without the luminous smile that he wore continuously. When my wife and I returned to Provo with our small family in 1981, we had the good fortune to live in the same LDS ward as Chase and Sandy. Soon thereafter, Chase and I had the...

Chase was a dear friend of mine for many years.

I had Chase as a companion in Strasbourg. He was my senior and he taught me a lot about being a good hard working missionary. RIP

You could feel Chase's smile, even over the phone.
