Rest in peace Mr. Shields a graduate of Mechanicsburg class of 1985.

Mr Shields was a mentor, my superintendent, and all around caring guy to me, when I was in the children's home, He will be greatly missed.

My condolences. My children went to Mechanicsburg HS when Dr. Shields was there- he was a fine superintendent. My husband worked for PSEA and always spoke highly of Dr. Shields as the perfect gentleman, and consummate superintendent, who could anticipate a problem and act, promptly and professionally to divert it. Thank you for giving my children such a fine start in life.

I would like to offer my condolences as my thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Charlie, I will remember your big smile and "Charlie bit me"

My condolences to all of the family, Carl, Suzanne, Charles and Debbie. While I never met him, I felt like I knew him thorugh his family members and friends. When I spoke to him he was kind and gentle, the type of leadership we need in our education world today. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Charlie, So sorry to hear about your loss. Thinking of you and your family.

Charlie said I was the first person he met when he came to M-burg in 1949. We met when football coaches at MHS. We began teaching Sept. 1949. Friends since then. An excellent friend, will always be remembered.
