Not sure what to say?

I only recently learned of Charles passing as I was discussing him with Tully Cathy our theory teacher at the U. I remember the first time I heard chuck play piano when Tully invited him to the front of the class to sight read a piece we were studying. He flew threw it flawlessness and me and the rest of the students just looked around in befuddlement. Later Morris Rosensweig the director of the new music ensemble asked me to perform in the most crazy piece of music I had ever attempted. It...

Dear Simmons Family- I am so sad to hear of Chuck's passing and sorry for your loss. Chuck and I played music together at the University of Utah. He and I worked together for many months on a super difficult duo piece, Peter Maxwell Davies "Hymnos" for clarinet & piano. When we finally performed it, it was incredible, and somehow (thanks to Chuck) fun, easy and effortless. I have never forgotten our performance that night. Wish I could have seen him again & heard of all the wonderful...

So sorry for the lost of Mr Simmons. My condolence to his family and may peace be with you!

Dear Simmons Family,

I am deeply saddened by Chuck's death.
He was a composition student of mine at the U, and surely one the best I've taught there. I have thought about him and his musical accomplishments often.

He is indeed one of those people you never forget. He was a joy to work with.
Brilliant, hard working, with keen insights, staunchly individualistic and a superb pianist, who as a member of the New Music Ensemble took on works that would baffle many...

I had got to a point of feeling very happy when thinking of Charles, but reading this obituary and the comments has taken me back to extreme sadness over the loss of this amazing person. Words have failed me for two weeks now. As a lawyer I have had cases with Charles as the opponent as well as ally. It was fun either way. He was an exceptional criminal attorney AND civil attorney AND trial attorney AND appellate attorney. I've never seen anyone so good at everything he did. There was a myth...

Dear Mr and Mrs Simmons and family,
I worked with Charles on a case in Ontario, Oregon, he was an excellent attorney and his passion to help anyone, anytime was remarkable. I had just seen him in Salem about a month ago, again he was helping someone on a PCR case. If you didn't have money or did it really didn't matter to Charles, he always had a smile and was glad to help. I look at his picture and it is unimaginable to think we will never see him on earth, but I'm sure he has a...

Dear Paul, Rebecca, Sam, Joseph and Celleste;
I felt a real pang of sorrow when I heard about Chuck, but then a bigger pang of joy because I knew him as a young scout in the neighborhood with Nelson, Jason, your other boys, Blake and Kathy's kid(Ricky and Robby) and all of the rest of the scouts. As I recall he was always the biggest kid with the biggest brain and the biggest heart and judging from what I've read and heard since he kept on keeping on being that kind of guy. God bless...
