Not sure what to say?

Dear Dorotha, We are so saddened to hear of Elder Smart's passing! We have such fond memories of you both when we were together in Moscow. He was such a humble, spiritual man as well as a highly skilled and successful doctor. He was a true friend to all! Our hearts go out to you at this most difficult time. We pray that you will find great solace through the gospel and the Savior’s atonement. Words will never adequately express our gratitude for all that you both have done for us...

Tom,

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your loss.

Sincerely,

Carolyn Campbell

To the Smart Family
I had the privelege of working with Dr Smart when I was a young nurse at LDS Hospital in the 70's. His care and concern for not only his patients, but we young women who cared for them was remarkable. I learned many wonderful lessons from your beloved husband, father and grandfather. I pray for your comfort, and hope it helps all of you to know a spark of his love lives on in this nurse.

I want to share with you my feelings about the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, etc. I worked for Dr. Smart for over five years. I must say he was the most dedicated doctor I have ever known. He treated his patients with love and the kindest of feelings. I have never worked with anyone whose life was more dedicated to God, family and mankind than he was. I ached for your family when you were searching for Elizabeth. God has been good to you. I hope He will put His loving arms...

Deare familie Smart - we feel your terrible loss greatly - what a wonderful man - he is gone onto another mission of life. He will be greatly missed here on Earth. Our love to you all - we are so sad, but happy for him as he is in much better place with God.

Dear Dorthea, my prayers are with you and your family. In the early 90's Charles was a great example for the single adults of EMI II and I appreciated the time he took with me to explain in more detail just what was involved in Stage 3 Non Hodgkin's lymphoma that my brother had been diagnosed with. It was clear that he cared even for Cancer patients that he did not know personally.

Dear Dr. Smart Family,
Please accecpt my condolences on the loss of your husband and father. I was a patience of Dr. Smart when I was 18 and diagnoised with thyroid cancer. He was a very kind and gentle man. I am now 51 years old and attribute him to saving my life. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of grief.
Most sincerely,
Diane Jones-West

I have come to feel that I know your dad, because of your great love for him, and in our many conversations about him. I have come to admire and learn from his example.
thanks for sharing some of him with me.
My heart has been with you all as you have helped him through this illness, and been through the process of death with him.
Love to you, Doug, Landon, Wayne, Sam and Emiline.
