I am a San Diego biotech exec and had the pleasure of meeting Chuck early in my career where he served as a consultant and advisor to Ligand Pharmaceuticals; over 20 years ago. He participated in our Scientific Advisory Board meetings and was constructive in reviewing our programs and we got to know each other. I also traveled with him to Japan for close to two weeks.
