Charles Smith Obituary

SMITH
Charles Frederick "Chuck" Smith was born on the 23rd of December 1965, and passed from this life on the 26th of July 2013.
Chuck grew up in San Antonio and attended Alamo Heights schools. He later moved to Houston where he was involved in a successful small business for many years. Chuck was a loving son, brother and friend. He lived life to the fullest taking advantage of each day. Chuck was full of life and loved his family and friends dearly. He cherished family gatherings and you could always count on him to provide his own form of entertainment. Chuck could bring a smile to your face in an instant. He was funny, charming and generous to a fault. He enjoyed race cars and motorcycles. He loved the finer things in life and shared those things with the ones he loved. He made us laugh, and cry, and we will miss him dearly. Our lives are forever richer for having had Chuck in them.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Joe Smith. He leaves behind his mom and dad, Fran and John Strength of Port Aransas; brothers, Joe Smith and wife Dorothy of Daphne Alabama, and James Smith and wife of Houston; sisters, Ellen Gillaspie and husband Dwayne, and Meg Bennett and fiancé Mike Britton all of San Antonio; nieces, Julie, Emily and Kristen; and many close cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Chuck became very spiritual and close to God in his last year of life and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Although Chuck is no longer here on earth with us, his vibrant spirit will be with us always. Chuck, you were one of a kind and will be missed.
In Houston, the family gathered for a private Christian memorial service.
In San Antonio, a celebration of Chuck's Life will be held on the 7th of September. Anyone wishing to attend may contact the family for additional details.
In lieu of customary remembrances, and for those desiring, contributions in Chuck's memory may be directed to the Delta Club, c/o Terry Lester, 6504 Auden St, Houston, TX, 77005; or to the charity of one's choice.

Chuck, though I barely knew you very well, thank you for being there for my mom. May God bless you and keep you through all eternity.

Dear Chuck, you have been my neighbor and friend, more like a son, for the past several years. I shall miss our great conversations and prayer sessions together, always. I have peace knowing that you are safe in the arms of Jesus, for eternity. I'll love you and miss you always.
