Charles Pete Smoak N. Charleston - Charles Pete Smoak, 86, husband of Marie Meitzler Smoak, of North Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 17, 2020. Online Condolences may be offered at www.CharlestonFunerals.com. Pete was born November 25, 1934 in Ruffin, SC, a son of the late Myris Inez Bishop and Walter Crompton Smoak. He attended public school in Walterboro and retired after a long career as an Ironworker. In addition to his wife of 49 years, Pete is survived by 3 children: Amy Stoll (Lou), Annette Biering (John), and Steven Sanchez (Karen); nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Fortune Bishop (Paul); and his sister-in-law, Janette Ferrara (Thomas). He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Monnie Smoak and Charles 'Little Pete' Smoak, Jr.; one brother, Monnie Smoak; four sisters: Lyda Seigle, Yvonne Bishop, Elizabeth Edwards, and Catherine Varnadoe; and one granddaughter, Brianna Smoak.
