Not sure what to say?

To the extended family of Charles Smoot,
I am so sorry for your loss. Leslie Smoot is a dear friend of mine and I can now appreciate the origins of her great humor, compassion, humility and intellect. Her dad sounds like a rare gem that many of you were very lucky to have known.
Eileen Marrinan

Dear Leslie- I am so sorry to hear the news about your dad's death. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. With Love and hugs, Linda

I was one of the volunteers at the Frauenshuh Cancer Center that was fortunate to get to know "Charlie". He was a very sweet man. Always had an interesting story to share. I was proud to have known him. Kay Myers

Dearest Lucy,
I am so sad to have heard about Charlie's passing. Even though I never met him, I felt like I did, thanks to your many stories of his adventures and life. I miss your smiling face, and am grateful for the memories I hold of you at St. Therese, and how much you helped me in the office. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time, and always, dear Lucy. Take care my dear friend. God bless you and your family. Annette Kline

Dear Aunt Lucy, Skip, Judy and Leslie and all your families

I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Charlie's death.
His sharp mind, hilarious stories, and clear explanations of complex concepts always amazed me.

How lovely to have known someone who enjoyed his life and his family so much.

Much love,

Sally Smoot Ingraham (Charlie's niece)

Charlie was my father-in-law. Most importantly to me, he was my wife's dad. So much of Charlie showed up in Leslie and subsequently in our kids and yes, they are wonderful very important traits -honesty, being clear about and standing by your convictions, passion (his were sailing, flying and being exeptionally good at these things), and love without stipulations (his commitment to his wife Lucy and to his family could not be matched). Charlie was a great patriarch and a great example for us...
