Mr Stanfield was my Mr Holland Opus. He was my favorite teacher all 3 years of HS 72-74 and in many ways felt like the father I didn´t have. Even tough I really couldn´t sing ver well he let me be in all the choirs because he knew how much I loved it. Fiddler On The Roof was so great - He always encouraged me to do my best and work hard I will never forget you!

Mr. Stanfield was one of the most influential people in my life. His great and enthusiastic love of music was contagious, and his classes were unforgettable. He introduced us to the greats of choral music: Beethoven, Brahms, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and especially Randall Thompson. I still sing his "Alleluia." I now work in the music department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. It was Mr. Stanfield who led me to this "road less traveled by." Eternal gratitude...may he rest in peace.

Mr. Stanfield had the wonderful gift of getting high school students to create something greater than themselves by pulling together to make beautiful music. He was one of my favorite teachers at Longmont High, 1975 to 1978. I still remember singing "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and a gospel number, "He is Alive" at an LHS graduation ceremony. Those musical choices spoke strongly yet subtly of his faith. He was an excellent teacher. May you feel God´s comfort in this time of loss.

I met Charlie when I was a small child and then again when I became friends with his granddaughter in high school. I have many fond memories of him. He was a wonderful man who loved his family a lot! Sending all my love to Michelle, Jordan, & Julia.

I loved being a choir student of Mr. Stanfield's! He was such a great teacher.....funny, fair, and a bit of a perfectionist. But he got us to sing our hearts out! One of my favorite memories is all the choirs doing "In Christ There is No East or West" and us making the album at St John's Catholic Church. It was just amazing! I will always remember him fondly. Praying for all his family. May he RIP.

Mr Stanfield was the music teacher when I went to Longmont High. One of my best memories is of the musical Fiddler on the Roof, I was part of the stage crew and one night managed to catch a picture of his stocking feet as he dove into the bed in one scene. I laugh everytime I see that picture. Was a fun time.
