Not sure what to say?

I have wonderful memories of Chuck when I taught at AuSable during the 1980s and early 90s. We golfed together frequently, had boat rides, pizza and/or ice cream but mostly laughed a lot. He will be missed.

Charles was always a friend and a positive influence. Always ready to help a novice. Excellent athlete. So sorry for your loss.

So very sorry to hear of "Mr. Stankey's passing (and Deann too). The Stankeys were some of the special people we were excited to catch up with every summer at Big Twin Lake. Like them our family was blessed to spend the summers enjoying "up north" and the beauty of the lake. We have know them since we were in elementary school (50+ years) so we feel we have lost a big part of our history on Big Twin Lake. I am so glad I visited Chuck and Deann last summer when they stayed at the Froysland's...

So sorry to hear of Chuck´s (Mr. Stanley to us when we were young) passing. We spent summers up at Big Twin Lake where the Stankey´s were a summer fixture. Kevin there all summer as a buddy and Chuck there as a skillful handyman to Au Sable Institute and any neighbor who needed help. Always one of the friendliest person around the lake. A very sad loss to the shrinking Big Twin of the late 1900s family. Thoughts and prayers to Kevin and Kelle.

Had Mr.Stankey for Wood Shop and still retain the skills he taught me in 1968. He was also my baseball coach for a couple years . Would bump in to him frequently at the old 68th street grill in Dutton. He always remembered my name, greeted me with a big smile and a handshake. Great guy ! JW

Great memories of Chuck. I would anxiously await his arrival at Big Twin Lake every summer. I was the facility manager for Au Sable Institute, and I would save the difficult projects for Chuck to tackle. He always came through. He was unflappable, a skilled craftsman, and a delightful friend to share a Dove Bar with. I miss him.

I had Mr. Stankey for woodshop in the 80's. I was the only girl in woodshop and I LOVED having Mr. Stankey for a Teacher. I learned so much from him, he was definitely one of my favorite Teachers. I am so sorry for your loss.

I had Mr. Stankey for shop back in the early 60's.....yes, girls took shop then! I learned so much from him about woodworking! He was just a super nice guy. My condolences to his family.

O sorry for your loss. Uncle Charlie was an amazing man. He loved his family very much. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Love you, The Wimbrow ( Lori Mauck Wimbrow) family
