Not sure what to say?

dear Dorothy, Brett & Hanna, deepest condolances. Been a privilege & pleasure to have know & loved Charlie,he was a one off. He has a special place in my heart. Lots of love Elizabeth Dowsett (england)

Dorothy, Brett and Hannah-

We have such wonderful memories of sharing Chicago deep-dish pizza at Uno's when coming to the windy city every year for a gymnastics meet with Emily's team. We often wondered what other cuisine Chicago had to offer, but, loved sharing Uncle Charlie's favorite!

We plan to come to his memorial to help celebrate his amazing life.

We will sincerely miss him,

Janet, Tim, Jenni and Emily

Dear Dorothy and Family,

We are sorry to hear about Charlie. You have our deepest sympathies. We always enjoyed seeing you and Charlie at the Opera and it was great fun that he looked so much like Peter Schikely (SIC) that night at the Firmi Lab. Wonderful memories!

Love,

Mary Lynn and John Gabor

Dear Dorothy, Hannah, Brett, and the rest of your family,

Our hearts go out to you for the loss of such a wonderful man. I only met Charlie a few times, but his warmth, humor, brilliance and talents came shining through. How amazing that he was researching greenhouse gases decades before anyone else was thinking about climate change! I hope your sadness will be eased by many happy memories.

With my condolences,
Mimi Brody (Harry Appelman's wife)

I have so many great memories of Charlie and cherish the friendship he had with Jim.

Farewell to a wonderful, old friend, He will be missed by all knew him.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your father, Brett and Hanna. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Deepest sympathies Brett and Joelle. Truly a life fully lived.

I met Charles once when he visited his daughter Hanna in Champaign-Urbana and I sensed his pride in his wonderful daughter. Reading about Charles' life of accomplishment, and knowing Hanna in the years she was attaining her M.D., Ph.D. degrees, I see it's true that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
I send my sympathy to the family on their loss.
