Rev. Dr. Charles Stratton

The world absolutely needs more men like Chuck Stratton, especially right now. I can take some small comfort from knowing that his time on earth was dedicated to spreading the word about how to be more human, more humane, and more engaged in a meaningful life of service and comradeship. Let's hope that his legacy will prevail.

I met Charles on the bench on Lilac Dr., where he would sit in the evenings reading and talking to anyone walking by. One evening when I was walking towards him, I saw fireflies all around him and the bench-- it seemed magical. I sat down and told him that and we had a conversation. Great man. I enjoyed playing racquetball with Chuck at the MetroCenter YMCA. He will be dearly missed b y all the guys on the courts.

Impossible to calculate how many lives he affected positively -- a great human being with a big soul. He had the perfect combination of heart, mind, compassion, discipline, competence and humor. Absolutely irreplaceable.
