Not sure what to say?

I met Chuck in a life drawing class at the Kalamazoo Institute of Art and we were quick friends. We were both returned peace Corps volunteers, him a million years ago in Afghanistan and me more recent. We bonded on a lot of cool stuff and I really loved our times together. What an authentic and kind human. We lost touch when he moved to AZ. I recently saw his name and googled him to say hey and saw he died. I leave this message to share with his family and friends that Chuck was a...

I was researching The Marianna Kistler Beach Museum and I came across an article mentioning that Mr. Stroh's art contributions to Kansas State University were so numerous in his time there that they necessitated the need for an art museum! The beautiful art museum we have today which was completed in 1996. I had to Google such a mensch! His memory is a blessing to me and I never had the pleasure of making his acquaintance. A life lived to the brim, he had! Condolences to the many many many...

I was reminiscing about my beloved college professors and was saddened to find Chuck´s obituary. Chuck had an incredible impact on my life. He was a favorite college professor of mine. I learned so much from his courses as an artist but also life lessons, too. He was a life long learner and I loved hearing about his life stories. I spent a lot of time at the WMU printmaking lab in the basement of Sangren. He sparked my love for printmaking. We kept in contact for 10+yrs after I graduated. He...

Our deepest sympathies to Donna and his family. Chuck was a special man who will be missed for his warmth and talents he freely shared. Rest in peace, dear Chuck.

I was very sorry to read this Jonathon and Christopher. Unfortunately we didn´t get to see your dad very often. I know he was proud of you boys. Thank you Jonathon for calling us and keeping us informed about him.

We know Chuck from YCAAS, Yavapai County Archeology. He was always engaging. His talks to the club and his photos of our trips were shared and enjoyed. We will miss him. Condolences to his family. And to Donna. .

My deepest sympathy.

Once Chuck left South Dakota and we remained here we didn´t get to see and visit him much. I wish we would have made it a yearly celebration but hindsight that didn´t happen. I was very proud of him as my brother and his accomplishments. He spoke frequently if Donna and from what I received she was a saint and guardian angel. Thank you for taking care of him.

I have known Chuck since his days at NMU in Marquette, Michigan. We became good friends and kept in touch , and for many years we met in Wisconsin to kayak on the Wolf River, often with my two boys. Those are some of my most endearing memories which I will always cherish. I vividly remember his clapping for me when I did my first combat roll below a difficult set of rapids. His joy for kayaking was always so apparent as well as his inquisitive nature about all things. His loss leaves a...
