Dr Swisher had a profoundly positive impact on the life of his young patient, Mary Heffernan, who he saw several times a year between the age of 48 hours old and age 24. Mary suffered a stroke at birth at Prentice and her prognosis was not optimistic. Dr. Swisher was the only doctor among many that gave us hope. Wonderfull man and physician. Chuck worked with us at Suburban Heights Medical Center later Well Group Health Partners in Chicago Heights for many years. I was talking to a colleague today and his name came up as it occasionally does. We wanted to look him up and saw that he passed away. Condolences. Those of us who worked with Dr. Swisher are better human beings for the privilege.

With this reminder from Legacy I´ve been thinking about Chuck. I´ve always been an Anglophile and he is one of the reasons. I knew him by both Charles and Chuck. We were high school classmates in the Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin class of 1957. All my Interactions with Charles reinforced my view of him as genuine, intelligent, always kind, and a gentleman.
