I was saddened to read of Charlie's passing. I first heard of him when I turned out for track in the mid-1950s at Everett High School. Coach Art Ramstad loved to talk about his state championship track teams of 1945 and 1947 and of course Charlie was the 440 yard state champ on the '47 team. "Rammy", as he was known, had such admiration and respect for Charlie and the other dedicated athletes who had brought such honor to EHS. Years later I did meet Charlie, who expressed fond memories of his...

I have fond memories of our neighbor and friend on Maulsby Lane. The Trasks seemed like the Lane's anchor tenant. Chuck and his family were always busy. I fondly remember being hosted at their cabin (Chuck grilled a salmon), his vintage black car, playing ball in his driveway, trusting his daughter to sit our kids, and just gabbing with him while on his front lawn.
He was as friendly, helpful and at ease at the hospital as he was at home. He set an example for me and other docs to...

I joined the Everett Clinic surgery department in 1982, to the generous welcome of Charlie. My first impression was that he was taciturn and humorless. Boy, was I wrong. In addition to being a fine and caring surgeon, he had a sly sense of humor that flashed at just the right times. Unexpected ones, too. One of my favorites was when he was called in by another partner in the middle of the night to help with a self-induced injury by a baseball bat. (I'll spare the reader the details.) When...

It was a honor to have worked alongside such a kind and respectful partner. I also treasure the memory when he cared for my grandfather and was able to put him at ease with his calm and friendly manner. God's blessings to the family.

He was a man that never raised his voice. He was a respected and loved surgeon, husband, & father and a wonderful neighbor. His skilled hands and healing touch made a huge difference in the community he served with great distinction. I will miss our "sitting on the curb talks". May God greet you with open arms and bless your wonderful family who will miss you so much. We are very thankful in having known you.
