Dr. VanDyken was one of my clinical instructors at the orthodontic department at the University of Michigan. He was a very kind and compassionate man and always had a smile and positive words of encouragement for me. I truly appreciated that. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I had the privilege of teaching with Charlie when I first started in 1996 in Grad Ortho at Univ. of Michigan. A great mentor and a true gentleman. My deepest sympathies to his wife and family.
With sadness, Mike Behnan

Charlie was a good friend and a great neighbor. He always had a kind word for everyone.

How great the joy Chuck is enjoying with Jesus. Sixty years of marriage to chuck carries many memories, Kathleen. I was close to him in Ann Arbor, Nigeria, and for a few years in Grand Rapids. My thoughts and prayers are with you and for you during these few upcoming days. God be with you and give you His peace. Bob Plekker, Bellingham WA.

My sympathies to the family.Do you remember a Thanksgiving Day in the early 80's that was interrupted by someone needing dr. VanDykens urgent care? That was me. I had been in a car accident. I met him and my oral surgeon at his office to fix my broken jaw that the hospital couldn't fix because of the braces. I will be forever grateful. He often told me he would never forget that Thanksgiving, and neither will I. He was a very kind and caring man. I am so sorry for your loss.
