Chuck was always there for our family. We were blessed to have him as a friend

Chuck meant so much to our family. He was there for every big event in our family. He was there for my parents passing. He married me and my wife. Married one of my sons. And baptized both my sons. He was a great spiritual leader, in my life life . And my friend.

I enjoyed Chuck in word and deed. I found one of his sermons online (link below) that is definitely "Chuck." https://holtonumc.wordpress.com/2014/01/27/devotional-from-chuck-vanlente-pastor-1978/

Pastor Chuck was my pastor at NUMC when I first joined up. He was a great pastor he asked me why I wanted to join the church and I explained that I wanted a good place for my children to grow up in the church and he said it would help you too with your journey and that always stuck with me. He will be missed.

Chuck had a big personality, a big love for God and a joy for interacting with others and preaching the faith. And he always talked with pride about you, Linda, and his family. Of course, yes, he wasn´t perfect, but we all remembered him after meeting! He seemed larger than life. And so, in this sad time. I want to send you my deepest sympathy for your loss. He lived life to the fullest.

Dear Linda and family: Chuck was a very important pastor for me and my six brothers when he was at Ashton UMC. Chuck was a powerful role model for all of us, but for me, especially. I would not have become the teacher, pastor, university chaplain, and internationally involved interfaith leader I am had it not been for the fun, faithful, energetic, nurturing, and personal integrity that Chuck modeled for me as a poor farm boy in rural Michigan so many decades ago. I will hold Chuck in my heart...

It is always sad to hear of a friend´s passing. I am thankful for Chuck´s faith and witness - he impacted the lives of many, many people.

Linda and family sorry for your loss. Chuck was wonderful preacher.

Sending prayers.
