Not sure what to say?

Big Al, My apologies as I have just learned that you are now in heaven. Heaven just became stronger as a new member of the world class Olympian powerlifting team circa 1982 has entered God's kingdom! I love you brother and, look forwarded to squatting 900lbs for reps with you screaming at me to do another in the next world. You're simply the best and there will never be another "Big Al"!

My sincerest condolences to your family.

Dave Colangelo

There were many times when I didn't think I could make it through life sometimes threw me such a hard ball that I could barely endure. Al Walke always was there to see me through, lift me up and kick my butt into believing that I could do anything.

There are no words left to express my sadness that this dear, dear, loving human will no longer be here for all of us. My heart is broken by his passing. He was truly loved by so many and will be missed beyond measure. He would always...

Al was my life line, my friend for over 20 years. He could always make me smile, and he knew how to pick me up when I was ready to give up. I could be mia for a year and walk back into the gym like it was just yesterday that I was there. I loved this wonderful man and I will miss him so very much~Lynn Draper

Big Al was an imposing presence. He was also a dynamic, wonderful man's man. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Rest in Peace Al. You will be missed for a long time.

From the Redmond Family

Dear Walke Family,
My prayers and thoughts will be with you always. I was training with Al every other day and Sunday was the day I always looked forward to having our one-on-one discussion time. He helped me beyond my fitness goals, and I feel so blessed to have had his guidance in my life. Al will always be in my heart.

Always,
Karen Redmond and Family

To the family! My deepest, sincerest condolences!! Your brother/uncle/ cousin Al was a mountain of a man and I'm not just speaking of his stature.

Although he wasn't blood, he was like an uncle to me as well. He was a mentor, confidant and friend. I miss his huge voice and big laugh. I miss his corny jokes that everyone loved, simply because it was Al telling them!!

Big Al was big, not because of his physical being, which was formidable indeed, but because his heart...

Al was a wonderful man who gave himself, his knowledge and encouragment daily to all those who walked through the door. He helped me and encouraged me to excell in weightlifting and competition. I will always remember him and remember him as a great man.

Al was a man of great integrity ad character. You always knew where you stood with AL, he never pulled any punches. If he wasn't joking you and constantly correcting you whether it was working out or just being in his presence then you didn't know Al. I have known him for over 40 years and I will truly miss his knowledge, his kidding, and his example of a life lived the way he wanted. Heaven has gained a great man and he will be in good company. I pray for his family and friends that they...
