I was friends with Chuck in Budingen, Germany. As friends often do in the military we drifted apart after serving together, but I never forgot my friend. Once, he came back from leave with the soundtrack to The Little Mermaid. We listened to it, probably more than we sous have. I could never watch that movie with my kids without thinking about him. I coached Chuck in wrestling and football during high school. He was a solid athlete who was also involved in band and vocal music. We were friends with his parents, Lou and Marianne. Chuck was a leader by example and was a major part of the Carroll Tigers winning their first Midwest Conference championship in 1987-88 (the program was reinstated in 1978-79).
