Not sure what to say?

Charlie was involved in so much in the Woodbridge community. He was known by everyone. But nowhere was his influence greater than in Troop 63. He influenced generations of young men. From tying knots to playing cards, Charlie was there for hundreds of kids. One of his sayings was "if it´s not for the boys, it´s for the birds". He also helped the Scoutmasters in carrying out the mission of scouting. His footprints run deep and he is missed greatly.

I as one of the first members of troop 7 in 1968. Since troop 7 consisted of all 11 year old boys, we did many activities with troop 63. I recall one evening in the troop 63 cabin when Mr Whiting was giving a scoutmaster´s minute. It was the first time that I heard some one say once an eagle always an eagle. It help to motivate me to become the first scout to earn all of the ranks including eagle I. Troop 7. May he rest in peace Paul Natusch

Charlie is an inspiration. A leader who could do while showing and show without doing. Through many years together, I learned to unzip my jacket coming in from the cold, play the tall man in a two-man job, and take pride in a day´s work. He was a hard worker, and his words had purpose. I will miss his "Oh yeah." It was special to hear.

I will never forget Charlie dubbing me Eagle Scout at my court of honor ceremony in 2013. He was the heart and soul of Troop 63, being the founder of the organization. Known as "Chainsaw Charlie" to most who were involved in Connecticut scouting, he was always seen cutting wood, or recruiting a few scouts (and some brave adults) to help out. I hope he rests well knowing how much of an inspiration he was to scouting and the town of Woodbridge. Prayers to his close friends and family.

Charlie instilled in our family the love of nature. Our sons learned the importance of self-reliance through their years of scouting. Thank you for making our lives richer. Rest in peace.

I will miss you Uncle Charlie.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Sending love and prayers for all family and friends.

I worked with Charlie for the town of Woodbridge. He trained me for snow plowing for the town. I also worked with him at the town dump. I will always remember him. Rest in peace. Bob Anastasio.
