Charles "Charlie" Whiting

Everyday after leaving Williams School, I had to stop at Mr. Charlie's to buy candy with the change from my lunch money. The store was ALWAYS packed, but I don't ever remember Mr. Charlie raising his voice to a single kid. He waited for us to put our change on the counter and very kindly and patiently waited on every child. To all of you remembering the Late Great Charlie Whiting: I am his proud grandson and would like to take the opportunity to express my gratitude for the warm thoughts that you have expressed about this wonderful human being. Charlie was a class act and will forever live on in my heart!

I was sadden to hear about the passing of Charlie. He will be very much missed. I always looked forward to coming home and going to the corner store to talk to with Charlie. He had alot of storys to tell you . I love the way he never forgot a thing about you not matter how long it had been since he saw you. He was very much loved. My prayers are with you.
