WICKES, Charles R. - Of Grand Blanc, age 69, died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jim Reid officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Hospice Advantage of Flint. Visitation 5-8PM Monday and 12-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Charles was born in Bernie, Missouri on December 7, 1937. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Eagles and the Moose Lodge. Mr. Wickes was employed by GM Metal Fab and was a member of the UAW Local #659. Surviving are daughters, Diane and husband David Burt of Gaines, Sheryl and husband James Swidorski of Manistee and Laurie Wickes of Swartz Creek; and their mother, Judy Wickes of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Sara, Charlie, Chris, Jordan, Jenna, Joshua Ray, Erin and Tyler; brother, Earl Wicks of Flint; many nieces and nephews.
