Dr. Wicks is without a doubt the A-number One Professor I ever had the good fortune of knowing and studying under. Kind and smart, courteous and professional, humble and friendly, he is one of my lifetime heroes and a role model par excellence. I will miss him and will always have fond memories of ChE 101 and Dr. Wicks. God Bless your family.
Sincerely,
Dr. Robert T. Brigantic, Richland, WA

Like Lash has already related, Doc was one of those profs you hoped to meet when you went to college. I was fortunate that he was in the Engineering Dept and was an advisor to our fraternity. When I was struggling in Thermodynamics, especially the heat transfer part, Doc had me up to his office a number of times for private tutoring. My good friend Mike Porter (OSU, 1968 - ME / Navy ROTC) and I would call Doc at 1:00 in the Morning from some "establishment". "Doc, whatcha doin'?"......."What you think I'm doing? I'm sleeping! You just woke up my wife!" "Well, we're down having a few beers and playing...

On behalf of my mother, brother and sister I want to thank you all for the kind words. I was lucky enough to have been taught and advised by my Dad, but all of us will always be blessed by a lifetime of learning from this amazing man.

It's hard to realize that he's gone. The thing I most remember and admired about Charlie Wicks was that he always put the needs of his students first, and spared no effort to make difficult material understandable. The effects of his work will continue on, and his memory will live on in all the people he helped.
