Charles Michael Williams

MANSFIELD: Charles Michael "Michael Muhammad" Williams, 63, passed this life on Sunday, December 20, 2015 in Ohio State University Medical Center from injuries in an accident that happened at his home a week earlier.

Mr. Williams was born on Friday, June 20, 1952 to the late Fred F. and Addie (Givens) Williams, Sr. in Mansfield and was a life resident. He was employed with the General Motors/CPC plant retiring in 2006 after 33 years of service. Mike was a well-known local artist who painted murals for churches, public and private entities can be seen around the city and throughout Ohio.

Mike is survived by his wife: Catherine "Cathy"; son: Ryheem (Jessica) Williams, Mansfield; daughter: Vanessa McElwain, Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughter: Ziya Williams; grandson: Elijah Williams, Mansfield; four sisters: Mary (Jay) Alice Douglas and Debra (Tim) Holt, Mansfield, Kim (Mario) Perkins-Brown, Cleveland, and Valerie Courts-Williamson, Chicago, Illinois; three brothers: Fred F. Williams, Jr., Mansfield, David Williams, Cleveland, and David Courts, Chicago; and special friends: Paul and Veronika Beard, Columbus.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 12:00 noon in Mid- Ohio Conference Center at 890 West Fourth Street with Student Minister Donell Muhammad officiating. Friends may call at the Mid-Ohio Conference Center beginning at 11:00 a.m. till time of service. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at their home from 3-5 p.m. daily till day of service.

I send my condolences to the family and friends. We go back a long way, back in Sam's poolroom days. We've had some good times. He'll never be forgotten.

While I never had the honor of knowing Mr. Williams, I have the pleasure of knowing his son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. My prayers to all his family in this very difficult time of tremendous loss.

To the Williams family I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mike I am praying for God to give you strength in this trying time. I last seen Mike on a bus trip to Washington DC we had a great time had a very pleasant personality he Will be missed.
