Not sure what to say?

Through different times in my life there have been certain people who stand out. Charles is one of those poignant persons that one never forgets. He was the finest teacher, my mentor, and my good friend. He encouraged my talent and influenced the person I am today. The world is a little less without him in it.

Jess, Stokes, and Mrs. Young,

Charles ("Sir") was one of a kind. He welcomed me like one of the family, and truly inspired me with his intellect and patience. While I am thankful he is out of pain, he is missed.

My deepest condolences,
Carrie Chobanian

Charles had the gift of encouragement, and authentically loved his students. His faith was real. He encouraged me to teach Interim at Calvin when I was just starting my architectural career and didn't feel ready, but he gave me his office and enthusiastically supported me through it.

How heavily it dies
Into the west away;
Past touch and sight and sound
Not further to be found,
How hopeless under ground
Falls the remorseful day.

Charles, you are the calm of a beautiful lake at sunrise. You are the beauty of the first flower of spring. your spirit lives in the aroma of garden soil. Your love is within every living thing, that you encountered. Thank you for being my friend
