Not sure what to say?

Dear Pam:
I heard of Kirk's illness from Barbara Wright and you both have been in my prayer ever since, and in the prayers of students you have taught. I learned a lot about Kirk's life from the wonderful piece in the paper...photographer, humorous and loving husband and father, courageous in the face of great challenge. He has left a legacy for you and your daughters and you have seen him home to the gate of heaven. Peace beyond understanding and blessings of love that never dies,

Our sympathy and warmest thoughts are with you now.

We have known Kirk for over 30 years, since the time Elaine was a group leader with Pam for an SLO Girl Scouts day camp. Kirk took photos for our 10th anniversary that we still have on display and look at every day. He was modest about his accomplishments as Stan found out when he teamed with Kirk for the relay division of the Cuesta Biathlon. Dear Pam and family, I am proud to say I am related to my "mountain cousins", and have you all, and especially Phyllis, in my prayers. The Strachan bee girls were blessed to know Kirk and will miss him.

Love,
Donna Strachan Haile

Pam, Rest and Peace for Kirk and prayers and understanding for your family. He fought the good fight.

Dear Pam, I did not have the opportunity to get to know Kirk personally, but feel I have come to know how special he was through your eyes. You two shared the kind of love and friendship so many others long for in their own lives. May all your love and cherished memories of your time together forever remain in your heart. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to read about Kirk's passing. In 1985, when my husband and I got married, Kirk was our Photographer. Our photos are beautiful and it is so nice to have them as my husband passed away in 1998.
My thoughts are with all of you and may Kirk rest in peace.

I met Kirk for the first time through his well written obituary. Thank you for making it possible to meet a most extraordinary man, husband and father. Your contributions to our book group have been invaluable. We look forward to your return. In the meantime we hold you and your family in our hearts. Alice Yamada

I worked with Kirk at the T-T--he in camera, me in composing. I enjoyed his cheerful attitude and his quizzical looks' reaction to my wacky sense of humor... He was devoted to his family, we all knew that. He'll be missed by all who knew him even a little...
