Thanks son your dad was a legend. Thanks for the time I drove up for the show your were very kind and fun that one special night. I have a wonderful music collection your dads always here now in my collection and in my thoughts.

I had no idea on that January morning some 16 years ago that my approaching a rock and roll founding father would lead to a great friendship. I was apprehensive in that I wasn't even sure if the gentleman doing his Sunday shopping was really Charlie. A good two minutes expired before I was sitting in his Cadillac as Charlie was rummaging through his gear looking for his new color photographs. "Hey, get in the car it's cold out here" In as much as I had only my shopping list to...

Charlie, my Darling, as the old Scottish song sings...deepest condolences to Joanie and family. Not many guitarists "appreciate" accordions. "Bumped into" Charlie at the food store parking lot and opened up my trunk to put the groceries in while we chatted. He saw the accordion and amp: "You've got fire!" he vamped! Then we got a pic in the soup isle with "Ben-jammin". God bless Charlie's soul.

I went to see Charlie and the guys at Jimmy Dee's and he asked me where my guitar was. Home I said. Come back next week and sit in he said. 8 years later I was still "sitting in". It was exciting and a challenge which I had to step up my game really high. We had great times and the dear people who came out to see us seemed to approve. We never practiced...all songs were done ad lib. Mr Gracie...thanks for that fateful invitation. It was a great honor. The Gracie family are wonderful...
