I first met Pete during a week of naturalist training at an Audubon Camp in Connecticut in 1967. He was the Park Manager at Florida Caverns and I was a Park Ranger at Hillsborough River State Park. Pete was a high energy, fun loving guy dedicated to the welfare of our state parks and employees. He was a leader during the golden years of Florida's state parks. I just reviewed numerous photos of Pete and found him smiling in every one.
