I am an Army Wac, last of them before I became Regular Army and wore CDR Charlie James, Jr POW bracelet. It was even more important to me because he became a POW on my birthday. I recently found the bracelet and my plan was to either return to him to let him know even Veterans cared and if he never returned I wanted to give to the family so they knew someone cared. To this day I would still want to return to the family. Researching his name I was elated that he made it home but upset to find...

I too, have CDR. Charlie James' POW bracelet. I have always kept him in my prayers. I've searched for him over the years with no luck. I saw a news report recently talking about the bracelets and how the gentleman being interviewed had found his POW who was still alive. I decided to look for CDR. James one more time. I'm so sorry to hear he has passed but also was so glad to learn he survived being a POW. He's a hero to all and we are indebted for his service and personal sacrifices. I would...

I wore CMD James's POW bracelets for many years until I saw his name as one of the released POWs. I prayed for him every night and was so happy to know he survived. I still have his bracelet and if any of his family would like to have it please let me know.

I was clearing out my 90 yea old mother's house when I came across my high school memory box. Inside I saw the MIA bracelet I wore through high-school, the name on the bracket is Charlie James Jr. who went missing 5-18-68. I remember wearing this bracelet with pride and I prayed every night for his safe return along with my father who also was away at war, we were living in military housing at Camp Pendleton, CA. . I also prayed for his wife and children I didn't know if he had children...

I wore Charlie James' POW bracelet for years not knowing he had survived and returned home safely. It was only shortly after his death did I learn the rest of the story. To this day the bracelet sits on my mantle and will till I'm gone. I only wish I could have told him how much his service meant to me.

I too wore my Charlie James Jr. POW bracelet for many years never learning of his fate until today thanks to the Internet. I was thrilled to hear that he was released in 1973 and went on to live a good life. I still have his bracelet on my mantle and remind all who see it of the sacrifice he and so many made.
