He also traveled extensively to the Netherlands, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Scotland and Canada. After his retirement from the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Lyons continued working on behalf of the United States in various capacities with the U.S. Civil Service. During this time, he passionately continued his travels, which included living/working in Puerto Rico, Algeria, Iran and Ascension Island in the South Pacific. Mr. Lyons leaves many to cherish his memory, including two daughters, Michele Acklen (William Acklen) and Lisa Lyons Ward (Joseph Ward); one son, Charles Osman Lyons (Antoinette "Peaches" Lyons); grandchildren, William Henry Acklen, III (Soleil Konkel), Justin Ross Acklen, Damian Bolden (Tinaceri Bolden), Carson Ward, Courtlandt Ward, Kierra Lyons, Camron Lyons and Dillon Lyons; great-grandchildren, Ivan Acklen, Gabriella Bolden and Sharon Bolden, and a host of other dear relatives and cherished friends. Not sure what to say?

With heartfelt sympathy to the Lyons family. Mr. Lyons was a true gentleman!

Charles, Lisa and Michelle my condolences and deepest sympathy in the passing of your father.

Charlie you are going to be missed. Lots of love and condolences to the family. As co workers at Fob Security I enjoyed working and being around a such honorable man who loved everyone. Rest up friend.

I am so sorry to hear about Mr Charlie. I work at the License Commission Office in Eight Mile. He was always so sweet when he would come in with the interoffice mail and the money. I also bowled on Monday Nights and would see him at the bowling alley. We would always compare our scores (trust me he won). He brought me a little coin purse from one of his trips to Las Vegas. A very sweet man.

My condolences to the family. The loss of a very special man . Words can´t express the sorrow that we feel , but The Lord is a comforter , a healer. Put all your trust in him.

Mr. Lyons, it was a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I will miss sitting next to you singing in the choir. Rest well Airman!

In loving memory of a wonderful person and Christian. We will love you and miss you always. In the name of our Blessed Mother of God.

Eternal peace to your Father. May God watch over your family and bless you with his goodness. My Condolences to your family.
