Charlotte BEAMAN Obituary
She was born on Nov. 9, 1915, in Harrisonburg, Va., and was the daughter of the late Earl C. and Katie Logan Homan.
She graduated from James Madison University and made her home in Harrisonburg prior to living in North Carolina, Virginia Beach and Newport News.
Charlotte taught elementary education and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Katharine B. Scott of Newport News, Annis B. Baker and husband, Ray of Carrollton, Va.; and one grandson, Christopher L. Scott of Virginia Beach; several nephews and one niece.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilson, Bobby and Earl Homan; and two sisters, Eleanor McNeil and Helen Hiserman.
A graveside service will be held at noon Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Woodbine Cemetery with Dr. John F. Sloop officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 3025 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
Lindsey Funeral Homes in Harrisonburg is handling arrangements.

I would like to offer my condolences to the family of Ms.Beaman.She was a wonderful woman with a big heart and an ear if you needed to talk with someone.I am certain she is with the lord and in a much better place. Ms.Beaman will never be forgotten in our minds and in our hearts.

Charlotte was an amazing woman!!! And just a joy to be around. I feel blessed to have known her and spent time with. I know she looking down on all of us. My prayers and love are with the family.

Katherine, Chris, Annis and Ray, I know how much you will miss Charlotte. I most certainly will. She was fun to be around and every time I watch one of the those Golden Girls episodes-Sophia reminds me of Charlotte. She said exactly what was on her mind. I will never forget those Christmas's at KiKi's and you all would run in and want to kiss me--at my age I hated getting those kisses. It was just too embarassing. I know I turned several colors of red. The Chowan years- where you all made me just like your family-trips, meals, shopping in Norfolk. When I was in the Navy-those days at Triton Towers. I can go on and on. I love my Aunt Charlotte and with her passing goes all the past. She was the last of my aunts and uncles on both sides of my family. I grieve with you but I know that she is now with her GOD and with her Momma,Dad,Wilson, Sister, Eleanor, Bobbie and Junior.(I wonder what they are talking about) God Bless
