GILMER, Charlotte Elizabeth, 55, of Richmond, died July 23, 2012. She is survived by her husband, Paul T. Gilmer; daughter, Lynn G. Batten; sons, Chris Gilmer (Samantha), Brandon Gilmer; parents, Gene and Mary Jane Freeman Sr.; three grandchildren, Brittney, Samantha and Gabi; two sisters, Gloria and Angie; one brother, Gene Jr.

(Debbie); and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Road, where a funeral ceremony will be held 10 a.m. Friday. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

I am very saddened to hear about the passing of the person I affectionatley call Miss Charlotte. In the short time that I knew Miss Charlotte she immediately touched my life. She was such a caring sweet spirit. Once she told me one of her favorite musical artist was Luther Vandross I knew we would have a great friendship.
