If you lived in Lincoln during the 70s-90s, it's very likely that Charlotte Luethje served you one of the best meals of your life. Whether it was at Arby's or Charlotte's Kitchen, her hospitality, humor and...

Not sure what to say?

Family & Friends of Charlotte....I received an online prompt today to consider adding a message on Ms Charlotte's Condolence Page, and I'm honored to share the following reflection. It was my distinct pleasure to become acquainted with Charlotte through my work at the United Methodist Children's Home [Epworth Village], located in York. Charlotte was very active in her United Methodist congregation in Lincoln and eventually agreed to serve as a member of the Children's Home's governing Board....

I have so many wonderful memories of Charlotte´s warm and caring manner! We were friends from Tuesday Morning Study Club from 1997 and always enjoyed the opportunity to chat or share family news. What a loss for us on earth but a great gain in heaven!

I knew Charlotte for only a few years as we were members of the Tuesday Morning Study Club, but she was a very warm and welcoming friend to new members. I shall miss her positive influence on those around her. I am so happy to have known her. My sincerest condolescences. Delivee Wright

What a beautiful testament to Charlotte´s life. I´d like to think I fall into the category of one of her "sons" and she felt like my "mom" for much of my adult life. There was always room at the table for a meal-and you dared not say no! Our family has so many great memories of the farm and Charlotte´s hospitality, acceptance and love. Roger Lipson

I also worked for Charlotte at 56th and O Arbys and helped "build" and open the location at 33rd and Cornhusker (okay, I put together tables and chairs). I worked for Charlotte for 3 years while I was in college. She was so much fun and loved people. She gave everyone 2nd, 3rd, 4th--as many chances as she could. She hired my elderly, widowed aunt to work at the Cornhusker location as the "Cookie Lady," where my aunt baked and handed out cookies to everyone in the lobby. It was the best...

Such a great article. To add to the story of her 40th birthday present (and I have so many fun stories of such a classy gal). I being a friend of her dear friend Ann Baker (Ann worked in the restaurant) heard the story about the gift and she was so worried about making enough to pay the bills . Your Dad told her just serve a good meal with good atmosphere and I´ll worry about the bills. That she did ! I also have memories of spending time with her at Joel´s wrestling for LHS. Many thoughts...

Dean & Christine Pulliam and family extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Ms Charlotte Luethje. Charlotte was a never-ending, effervescent whirlwind of joy, compassion, celebration and generosity who filled everyone with whom she engaged with happiness and peace. May God's Grace and Peace support and comfort you in this time of loss.

She was the best boss/owner ever. I worked at Arby´s from 1977-1980. I loved working for her and at Arby´s. She treated us great and treated the customers like family. She let us eat whatever we wanted and let us give free food to customers if things went bad during their visit. I swear people came in just to visit with her. Especially on sundays. I know all of my coworkers felt the same way about her. It was the best job I ever had and I was a firefighter for 26 years. She will be missed.
