Not sure what to say?

March 23, 2010
My father was Charlotte's older brother--Hamilton E. Whitman from Kalamazoo, Mi. Often I would go with
my father to visit Aunt Charlotte.
They would sit in the chairs by the
fireplace in the living room on Golden
Ave. in Ann Arbor and share a cocktail
and talk about anything and everything.
I would go upstairs and "play" with
my cousins Pat and Cathy--we 3 were all
about the same age. They introduced me
to the Beattles! Uncle...

I sat near Mrs. McGeoch at UMS Choral Union concerts in Hill for many years. She was a great music lover and a very gracious lady who will be missed by many in Ann Arbor.

When I started working at UMS in the late 1980s while a student at U-M, I met Charlotte and enjoyed many lunches with her and another colleague, where she literally brought the history of music in this community alive. When she talked about some of the people who performed in Hill Auditorium in the 1930s-1960s, it brought the...

I interviewed Charlotte 15 years ago as part of a video project to help raise funds for the Hill Auditorium renovation. She told wonderful stories of experiencing Hill as a young child and throughout her life. She was a beautiful, refined, and completely charming woman.

I was a sales associate at Jacobson's for several years. I enjoyed helping Mrs. McGeoch, as I called her. She made a day better after helping her. It is the passing of a fine lady. My condolences, Margaret Applin-Martin

Sweet Charlotte,
She had a wonderful smile and an infectious spirit. I loved getting to know her through UMS. She definitely contributed to the Ann Arbor community as well as the music community. I remember her love for opera, and her travels to the great opera houses in the world.
God bless Charlotte!

Charlotte was such a wonderful lifelong friend of University Musical Society where my husband Ken and I met her and personally. She lit up the room everywhere she went with her warmth and many interests. She was one of the first friends to support my efforts with four of my musician friends to start the community music school Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts in the early 1990s. She came to our first youth orchestra concerts and cheered our efforts. What she cherished & contributed to...
