Reichel Funeral Home - Northampton Obituary

Charlotte Nappa, 98, of South Belmar, NJ / Lake Como, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Phoebe Nursing Home, Allentown, PA. Born on October 21, 1925, in Pittston, PA, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mabel Alpaugh. She was the wife of the late Carmine Nappa. She lived in Newark, NJ before moving to South Belmar, NJ in 1965. Charlotte served as tax collector for South Belmar for many years. In addition, she was employed as a clerk for the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office. Charlotte was a member and treasurer of the Wall United Methodist Church, and a Democratic County Committee Women, serving as municipal leader for several years. She served on the South Belmar school board for 15 years, and as president for 5 years. She volunteered for the Visiting Nurses Association, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 346 in Neptune, and past president of the former American auxiliary unit 151 in Belmar.


Survivors: son, Robert and wife, Kimberly; daughter-in-law, Valaria; stepdaughter, Teri; grandchildren, Alek, Gaby, Madi, Toni and Carmine; and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her son, Vincent, and a brother, William. 


A celebration of her life is scheduled for July 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Wall United Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.
