Dear Dr. Stern,
I remember you so fondly and was deeply saddened to learn of your loss. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Elizabeth Oast (McCombs)

Dear Dr. Stern: RMWC will always be eternally grateful for yours and Charlotte's contributions to its academic life. My deepest sympathy to you upon her death.

I was so sorry to hear of your wife's death. I didn't know her well, but i know that she was very active in the life of Randolph-Macon. She will be missed by many.

The sadness of losing such a brilliant supporter of matters essential applies to all who benefited from Charlotte's wisdom. I keep you in my thoughts, prayerfully, for you too were one of my guiding lights at R-MWC.

We are saddened to learn of the loss of your beloved wife and partner. It was a joy to learn more about her many, many accomplishments during her life.
