Longtime Ardmore educator, Charlsie Annette Foust Allen, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019, at the Madill, hospital. Charlsie was born May 8, 1948 to the late Albert Gene Foust and Flora Loretta (Palmer) Foust at Ardmore.
Charlsie graduated from Ardmore High School in the class of 1966 and continued her education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University where she received her undergraduate work and a Masters Degree in Education. She taught for over thirty years in the Middle School of the Ardmore City School system. A National Board Certified teacher, she was certified in all subjects. A longtime member of the Oklahoma Education Association, Charlsie was the past president of the Ardmore Education Association and member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
Her interests in genealogy, the history of Ardmore and Southern Oklahoma, led Charlsie to write and publish in 2009, as one of the Images of America books "Images of America, Ardmore". It contains much information and photos of early day Ardmore. She also wrote two novels, "Unexpected Destiny" and "Lilac Courage", both historic and based on family history.
A devout Christian, Charlsie loved the Lord and trusted in him. She was saved at four years of age and is a member of the First Baptist Church.
Dr. Alton Fannin will conduct graveside services at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2019 at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Charlsie is survived by her daughter, Bryanda Hunt and her husband, Cecil of Madill and her grandchildren, Gabriel Bertram, Joshua Hunt, Hayli Hunt and Faith Hunt.
The family will receive friends and host a time of visitation and support Thursday evening from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.

I send my deepest sympathies to the family. Brynie and I took piano lessons growing up together and Mrs. Allen was so sweet to me. She was always supportive of my musical endeavors and I always knew I had at least one fan in the audience besides my parents. Prayers and love sent your way.

I loved Charlsie!! I loved working with her for many years at Ardmore Middle School. Charlsie was a master teacher who simply loved what she did. Teach. Charlsie will truly be missed by many who loved and respected her very much.
