Over here in Tennessee, my sisters and I were surprised to learn of the recent passing of "Cousin" Charlton deSaussure, Sr. I personally had the pleasure of getting reaquinted with Dr. deSaussure by phone just 5 weeks ago. The City of Charleston, his close family and his extended family will miss this southern gentelman and scholar.

Dr. DeSaussure epitomized the Gentleman and Scholar. His educational, professional and personal accomplishments have set the highest standard of excellence and we are grateful for his many contributions to Charleston and our Medical School.
