Not sure what to say?

I'm certain it was a lovely funeral for a loving man. Throughout my life,I've met people who attended Pierce Park or Cole Elementaries. When I've asked if they knew Mr. Hochstrasser, without exception, the responses were with warm smiles and sincere expressions of the wonderful teacher, leader, and kind man he was...even from those I'm sure were knuckleheads. Proud to be related and have felt the responsibility to strive toward his example. Wish my family could have attended.

Chase Hochstrasser was my sixth grade teacher 1968-1969,, and I also remember him reading to the class everyday after lunch recess. The first time I heard books like Where the Red Fern Grows and Huckleberry Finn was from Mr. Hochstrasser. To this day when I see those books it reminds me of him. My condolences. Roy Johansen

I love you Grandpa!

I was fortunate to be in Mr. Hochstrasser's class at Hawthorne Elementary. I always remember his with great respect.

I was one of the lucky children to have Chase as my sixth grade teacher. Every day held great memories, but the fondest was listening to him read to us. He knew how to bring a story to life. I will also be forever in his debt for allowing me to student teach at Pierce Park. It was such a good experience, I wanted to come back there years later and enjoyed many years in my own classroom. He will be missed.

Uncle Chase will be missed dearly -- I've grown up admiring and respecting him, and have always been impressed by the sweet relationship that he and Aunt Verna share. Sending love and prayers of peace.

We first met Chase when he was the principal at Pierce Park School where our 4 children attended school. He was a great addition to the school and everyone loved him. Especially all the kids. Never did I ever realize that my youngest daughter would marry his nephew and become a Hochstrasser. What a great family to join. Chases smile was always so wonderful to see. LaVarna was a lucky lady to have been married to Chase for almost 60 years. They made a great pair. He will truly be...
