Cheri Marie Gerhart, 71, left the world in the same way that she occupied it, quietly and peacefully. Cheri was born in Muskegon, Michigan, to Walter and Marguerite (Nastase) Jones. Cheri was in the middle of her siblings, Walter Jones and Rosemarie Lee, who describe her as “the good one.” ...

I didn't know Cheri, whom I came to know through her daughter Maggie, as simply "my mom." Maggie is my work colleague so the past year or so I have gotten updates: the ups and downs, the highs and lows. Just glad Maggie could spend as much time with her mom as she did. God bless Cheri - she and her husband raised an outstanding daughter, and when it is all said and done, what greater contribution can make?

I am so very sorry to hear of Cheri's death. I worked with her at MHS during the academy days. Her hands-on approach to science made her a wonderful teacher. She had a very sympathetic heart which made her want to help every child that came through her door. She loved her students, but most of all she loved her family, who helped her get though all of the tough times that come with teaching. I worked with Cheri at MHS when she came to the District. She was an incredible person, extremely nice and compassionate about helping students achieve more. It was a joy to be around Cheri and I am praying for her family. We really appreciated her husband being our Santa Claus on numerous occasions!

May you rely on the God of all comfort. Deuteronomy 33:27 says, "God is a refuge from ancient times, His everlasting arms are beneath you."

We will miss Cheri as one of our most dear customers. She always shared a smile and a story. Sometimes even surprised us with gluten free goodies. Rest in Peace.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Cheri. I worked with her for a few years at MHS. I remember her always wearing a white lab coat. She made me feel very welcome when I arrived at MHS and she always made me laugh.
