Not sure what to say?

I was one of those students in 1981, second grade, Mrs. Seet's class at Glencoe Elementary that was blessed to have stories read and acted out for us by her. For some reason I had just mentioned her to my husband the other day because I always wanted to sit as close to her as I could, she always smelled like tea roses and I can remember that vividly to this day. She gave me a love of reading that has been the most precious gift I have been given by a virtual stranger. I'm very saddened to...

I am so sorry to hear of Cheryl's death. I know it must be hard for you all. The relationship between a mother and children and stepchildren is so primal. My condolences.
She raised a parcel of amazing kids who are doing well in the world. Then she continued to contribute to the lives of children as Story Lady and with people with disabiities with PHAME.
One of the things that I am grateful to Cheryl for is that she spoke to the class that I taught on Asperger's Syndrome at Portland...

She helped me write a story during my very first term at PHAME

My prayers are with you all. I loved seeing her come to read to the kids at Glencoe and getting to listen also. Her puppet were amazing and the kids loved them, mine was the purple dragon.I’m a Para educator at glencoe Amanda Summerhalder.

Cheryl was my friend while in the MFA/WCYAI program at Vermont College in Montpelier, VT. She had an intensity about her that made me feel she penetrated my soul and I liked her very much. Upon graduating, I gifted her a silver woodpecker pin. This pin was meant to become the graduation memento of the program, as the rat-a-tat-tat of scarlet-headed birds interrupted many a reading. I believe Cheryl and I might be among a very small group with this piece of jewelry. Cheryl was touched by my...

I had the pleasure of working with Cheryl to help her with her computer and it was always clear how she so dearly loved her family. She was always excited to share with me the latest pictures from Mei and she would ask me to keep up an exchange of drawings with her on the refrigerator dry erase board. I am so sorry to hear of her passing and my condolences go out to her entire universe of family and friends.

To Rebecca, Doug, and Cheryl”s children and grandchildren-my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I know this a difficult time for all of you. Sadly, it’s been so many years since I had seen Cheryl and seen all of you. I remember Cheryl sending precious letters to Mom who was her Aunt Katie. Mom loved hearing from her. Please know that I love all of you. Wish I could be there.

My daughter was a student at Glencoe School when Cheryl, as Storylady, first established the Story Book Parade. We both dressed up in costume for one parade (as Heidi and Heidi's governess) and my daughter was a costumed participant in at least one other. My grandchildren subsequently went to Glencoe and also participated in the parade. I am shocked and grieved by her untimely passing.
