Cheryl was a tremendous force of nature. Her spirit, her smile, her easy way of making a point, will all be remembered. Cheryl guided me through the first radio interview that I ever did after we published "African American Cancer Facts and Figures". She asked me to engage with the Office of Minority Health as a grant reviewer, which was a fantastic learning experience for me.

My deepest condolences to Russell, Ebony and the BOYCE family. Cheryl played a major role in my life for many years. I Thank her for her mentorship. I thank her mostly for being a friend and teaching me about being authentic and committed to her passion. She lived and breathed “improving the health of those we serve.” That legacy, her legacy, will never be forgotten. RIH my dearest friend.

I'm so sorry to learn that Ms. Boyce has passed. She was a role model for so many who worked addressing health equity. I hope that her family finds solace and comfort in her memory.

I had the privilege of meeting Cheryl and her husband while serving on the MMORE committee. She was smart, funny, no-nonsense and so brave. I marveled at her courage and her commitment to find a cure for multiple myeloma, not just for herself but for everyone fighting the cancer.
