Dear Family of Dr. Cheryl Sales; I heard today about the passing of Dr. Sales. She was a wonderful example of an osteopathic physician and a role model for other women studying and achieving in the field of orthopedic surgery. She will be missed. With sincerest sympathies to you. Mary Pat Beals, Kansas City University, College of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr Sales was so kind, smart and generous. I enjoyed working with her at metro. She paved the way for women in the surgical arena. She will be missed

Cheryl was a long time neighbor and friend. Dogs were always our favorite topics. I´m so sorry for your loss. She will be missed. Rosemary DeRidder

Cheryl taught me so very much as we worked side by side in the ORs at Metro Health Hospital. I looked up to her and respected her love to help others whether they were coworkers or patients. As a surgical tech I appreciated her dedication to do her patient´s wellbeing and her ability to teach me to help her do that. I have thought of her much throughout my 22+years of ST work and she holds some of the most memorable of times! She will be missed by friends family alike you know who you are and...

I walked a lot of miles around the dog park with Cheryl and Erik. She was one of the good ones!

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Sales passing. I worked for her for a short time and learned a great deal from her. She was passionate about her profession and enjoyed sharing her knowledge and inspiring the people who worked with her. She spoke often of her children and what they meant to her. My condolences to her family.

I too had the privilege of working with Dr Sales- and fondly remember her. The first of a few female orthopedic surgeon I had known, I met her the first day of her residency. I was amazed watching her wield the tools, and relating to her primarily male colleagues. While she didn´t waver from high standards, she was always respectful of others- and a great teacher. She had impacted many- including me.

I was a patient and truly appreciated her knowledge and concern, she will be fondly remembered and missed. Praying for comfort for her sons and families.

A focused and brilliant surgeon, she will surely be missed be family and friends.
