Cheryl L. Genteel, 76, of Roseto, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 10th, at Brookmont Health Care Center in Effort, PA.


Born on February 6, 1949, in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Virginia J. (Hess) Moyer. Cheryl was the beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Genteel, who passed away in 2017.


Cheryl was a dedicated educator, having worked as a Mathematics Teacher at the former Puix X High School in Roseto, PA. She was a proud Salutatorian and 1967 graduate of Bangor High School and earned her Bachelor's degree in Education and Philosophy with honors from East Stroudsburg University.


She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Roseto, PA. Cheryl was an avid reader and enjoyed crosswords and Sudoku puzzles. She cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.


Cheryl is survived by her son, Corey A. Genteel, husband of Bobbi, and her grandchildren: Sophia Genteel, wife of Khaled Tawfik, Joseph Genteel, Adriana Genteel, Allyson Flurer, and Austyn Flurer, husband of Katelyn. She also leaves behind two great-grandsons, Nolan Flurer and Noah Tawfik. Cheryl was predeceased by her husband, Joseph M. Genteel, and an infant brother.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 15th, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Third and Garibaldi Avenues,  Roseto, PA. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 3 to 5 PM on Sunday, September 14th, and from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Monday, September 15th, at Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane, "Village of Johnsonville", Bangor, PA. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Bangor, PA.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 560 N. 6th St., Bangor, PA 18013.
