HAGER, Cheryl Ellis, 48, of Rockville, Va., went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2010. She is survived by her husband, Howard C. Hager III; one daughter, Savannah Hager; one son, Logan Hager; two stepdaughters, Jessica Hager Bowden and Jennifer Hager; her parents, Lonnie and Jean Ellis of Mechanicsville; one brother, Lonnie Ellis Jr. of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Cindy Marshall and husband, "Buddy," of Sandston and Teresa Ellis Wade of Mechanicsville; one sister-in-law, Sara Hager Lambert; one brother-in-law, Robert Hager; and a host of other relatives and friends. Cheryl will be remembered as a loving, devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter, and dedicated teacher of Hanover County Schools. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Salem Baptist Church of Crozier, Va. She loved everyone, was very nurturing and giving, and loved her flowers, plants, camping, the river and outdoors, gym, family, friends, and teaching. She was a 1979-graduate of Lee Davis High School in Mechanicsville and a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business. She worked for Dominion Virginia Power for several years prior to teaching. We all loved her so much; she will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m., where a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 10 a.m. Interment at Signal Hill Cemetery. May your spirit and precense live forever :) From Your sis, Teresa

To My Beautiful Sister, Cheryl, I am hurting more than I ever knew hurt could feel. I am talking to you daily about so many different things, and will continue to do so for the rest of my life. I am so sorry our family could not take the pain and illness away for so many years, we tried with all we had. Some didn't realize how much pain and illness you encountered, but the ones of us that did, tried our hardest. With that; Cheryl felt like she was a burden and didn't pass for herself but...

May God keep you and sustain you during your time of grief. We will miss Cheryl...always smiling, bubbly personality. Always finding the time to stop and chat, keeping us abreast of the events of the day. Rest in peace Cheryl, you will be greatly missed.

Howard & family,
