I was a student in her first 3rd grade class at St Mary. Mrs. Houk was the first teacher and person that I really had that made me feel like I belonged there. For some reason, I remember being terrified to walk into her class the first day. The last seat left in the room was the one closest to her desk. Somehow, I had formed the idea in my mind that she would be scary, but by the next week I had completely fallen in love with her. We bonded over the silliest things, like Cheez-Its and John...

Remembering Mrs. Houk with so much appreciation for her kindness, enthusiasm for teaching, smiles and stewardship for our children at St Mary School in Pinckney. She was my daughters´ fourth grade teacher and imparted so much kindness and warmth with creativity of teaching! Thank you to Mrs Houk and her family for sharing so much of her time and talents with our children. You are all in my prayers for comfort and peace.

Cheryl was my daughter's teacher and a great friend to the family during our time at St. Mary's school. Such a wonderful woman and will be missed. Condolences and prayers to the family.

She was my daughter's teacher for 4th grade. Absolutely one of the best! She had such compassion and kindness. We've never forgotten her and how fun she made her classes. Godspeed, Cheryl.

I was one of her students at St. Mary. Mrs. Houk, as I knew her, was one of my favorite teachers. She always knew what I needed when I was having a tough day. She has influenced my life so much and I will miss her greatly. May God bless you and your family through this time of sorrow and know she is in good hands up above.
