Chester "Joe" J. Gadsby

Chester J. "Joe" Gadsby--79, A resident of Somerville died unexpectedly on November 12, 2016.

Born in Cambridge, Joe was the son of the late Harry and Mary (Vaughn) Gadsby. He was the beloved, longtime companion of Barbara (Tabet) Campbell. Joe was also the devoted step-father of Robert Campbell and wife Sandy, Richard Campbell, all of Somerville, Ronald Campbell of Everett and Daniel Campbell and wife Lisa of Sutton. He was also the cherished grandfather of Matthew, Brian and Lauren Campbell and the dear brother of Sister Mary Henry Gadsby, SSND of CT, Marie Gadsby of Somerville, Tom Gadsby and wife Sandy of MN, and the late Charles, James and Frances Gadsby. Joe is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours were held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home (Powder House Sq.) in Somerville on Thursday, November 17, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:30 p.m.. Relatives and friends were invited to attend. Interment was private.

Joe was an  Army Veteran, Korea and a retired elevator technician.
