I'm sorry that I am just reading this. Chet, was quite a guy! He was a sharp dresser, was smart, and took interest in what you had to say. He was a great conversationalist and was a great host along with his wife Agnes. Although I did not spend a lot of time around Chet, the world will miss him in a major way.

My prayers and condolences go out to Agnes, John and their family. Chet was a wonderful conversationalist and teller of human stories. He brightened many exchanges with his humor and insight, love of family, knowledge of popular (1950's era) music, devotion to running, and insight into local area history (including tasty restaurants). May his memory be a blessing.

Mr. Barnes was my 6th grade teacher at Crossgates. He was always my favorite teacher of all time. He was full of interesting stories of experiences during his life when he was in the Army. He was friends with Elvis Presley. He told many stories of that. As a teacher, he shared stories about his love for his wife and children.
