Chester G. "Chet" Fobear

I grew up in Saginaw Township on Center Road. My parents put me into the city school system starting in third grade, where I met Chet on my first day at Emil Herig. As grade schoolers we played YMCA softball and city Parks and Recreation baseball (Hoyt Park) together. Chet was a wonderful softball pitcher, who dominated many of the teams we played against, because he already had speed and real control. We both went on to South Intermediate and then Arthur Hill.
